Talbot Homes is proud to have breathed new life into this 120-year-old Californian Bungalow in Macedon. With careful consideration of its historic charm, this project seamlessly blends heritage features with contemporary upgrades to create a home that is both timeless and functional.

The extension includes a spacious new living area, bedroom and laundry, all crafted with cedar weatherboards painted in elegant greyscale tones, harmonising with the home’s character. A brand-new roof crowns the design, enhancing its durability and aesthetic appeal.

To meet modern living standards, all walls and ceilings have been fully insulated, paired with the installation of an energy-efficient heating and cooling system for year-round comfort.

The heart of the home, the kitchen, has been fully rebuilt with classic shaker-style cabinetry, combining traditional design with modern functionality. Complementing the interior, a new Merbau wrap-around deck invites outdoor relaxation, adding a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor living spaces.
